Everything you need to know about Alphatech Agriculture

What is Alphatech Agriculture?
Alphatech Agriculture selects, propagates and creates value from trees and perennial species, and consolidates the production companies in this sector. Its activity is based in France, through Alphatech Agriculture France.
What exactly is your business?
Two links in a chain of six: genetics and intellectual property on one side, production on the other. Identifying outstanding individuals upstream, then distribution, planting and processing downstream, is the business of our partners, field operators and clients.
How is the group structured?
Around centres of expertise in selection and crop data, acquired production companies and land companies, together with minority holdings for technology watch. Each company keeps its activity and receives the group's resources.
Why is the tree becoming an economic subject?
Because demand is settling in while supply is concentrating. In France, a billion trees are to be planted by 2032.
What does selecting a tree mean?
Identifying outstanding individuals in the wild: drought and heat resistance, yield, product quality. These individuals become mother plants, protected by plant variety rights, from which propagation is carried out.
What is propagation?
It is the nursery trade: producing, from the selected material, young plants, ornamental trees and large specimens, with the control of land and of access to water that this requires.
Which species do you work with?
Those that match the three uses we serve. Forests: downy oak, Atlas cedar, maritime pine. Cities: hackberry, downy oak, Montpellier maple. Farms: truffle oak, walnut, almond, pistachio, olive.
Why are plant technologies becoming strategic for global industries?
Plant technologies help industries secure access to essential plant resources, while improving productivity, traceability and resilience.
How can technology make agricultural value chains more resilient?
Combining agronomy, biotechnology, precision agriculture, data and AI improves visibility across the whole value chain and reduces exposure to production and supply risks.
Who are your clients?
Town halls, metropolitan authorities, departments, regions and social housing providers. Landscape contractors, garden centres, developers and private individuals. Fruit growers and cooperatives. On the forest side: the ONF, forest managers, chambers of agriculture and carbon-offset operators.
You acquire nurseries: what does that change for the owner-manager?
A production company is not valued like an industrial SME. Its value lies in the land, the living inventory, the variety portfolio and the mother-plant collections. Each file is reviewed in confidence, with nothing to prepare for a first conversation.
What do you bring to a company that joins the group?
Centralised intellectual property, financial structuring, value from operating data, access to the network's clients, a European network of propagation greenhouses, non-dilutive financing and joint research programmes.
